Even Walls have Ears!!!

This incident happened a few days back....(MEC time!) Now imagine that Iam spinning a tortoise mosquito coil to get into the flashback!!!!!

It was 6.30 pm. One fine (rather unfine) Thursday.
I was rushing to the notice board to find which cab is allotted to me ( we are provided a drop facility in our office)......
Checked the number and started searching the cab and simultaneously memorizing the number so that I dont forget it amidst the various cab numbers that I see across...

Finally around 6.35 pm I found my cab and got in... found my Old team mate (Mahesh) sitting next to the driver's seat and as he is also from TN, started chatting in Tamil....
I vaguely felt the presence of two other girls in the backseat of the cab and ignored their presence....

In the midst of our chatting we heard some awkward accented tamil coming from a distant voice and noticed two girls talking something... sema accent... Tony blair parambarai nu nenappu.. peter podrada irundha englishla pesa vendiyadu dhaney... tamil kolai there! It was around 6.45 pm by then

Mahesh passed a comment "Idu yendha oor tamil?"
I said "yenna ezavo? Sahikkala!"

Thats it.. we started continuing our old topic....

One of those two girls got into the cab and told "hey yenna neeyum indha cab a? nalladha pochu!" to one of the girls who was in the back seat... hearing this my heart pounced to my mouth and got back to its place.... 6.50 pm.... and the cab started leaving the office....

To my utter bad luck, the backseat girl kozhimootufied the incident to her as well! The one who got in immediately remarked "Why? yen tamilukku yenna koraichal?" I was about to comment back but then felt the tension of the situation and remained silent... Mahesh and me exchanged blunt smiles till they got dropped...6. 55 pm...

Once they got down I told him "nalla maatnom! yarukku yellam tamil theriyumnu kandu pidikkavey mudiyaradu illa"

Mahesh said "இதெல்லாம் அரசியல் வாழ்க்கைல சகஜமப்பா!" (idellam arasiyal vazkaila sagajamappa!) in Goundamani style...7.00 pm

Hmm my mom always used to tell me that even walls have ears. Be careful when you speak about somebody when you are in public... and as usual I never took it seriously....

Now I realise it!!! and I am sure I would repeat the same dialogue in future to my kid as well....

Its sometimes good to have such conversations. Helps to let people know their killing the language with awkwardness ;) Sometimes its always tempting to give sarcastic comments, but thats what the patient needs :)
